Good gracious I don’t know where to start. The service was out of this world, the food was innovative and unique, and the outside dining was a dream! Marigold’s menu changes every day, using the freshest ingredients! This is a bold move and shows just how passionate they are about creating a menu full of must have dishes you won’t find anywhere else! EVERYTHING we had that evening left us speechless and craving more. Hands down the best restaurant within 30minutes of Boulder if not the Front Range. See ya soon!
The most beautifully curated menu I’ve had the pleasure of eating. I love how the menu changes so frequently to incorporate new flavors. Perfect portions and amazing service. If you are visiting or simply live in the area I highly recommend coming in to dine.
1000/5 stars. My fiancé and I have loved coming here for any and all occasions and have always been treated so well. The food has always been amazing, inventive and I love that the menu changes with the seasons. The staff takes their time answering our many questions and providing excellent recommendations. Their wine sommelier, Eric, has also been incredible in providing excellent recommendations based on what we’re in the mood for and what we’re ordering. This past dinner experience absolutely blew me away. We had just gotten engaged the morning prior and my fiancé had made reservations here. Then the staff proceeded to make the night so special by congratulating us, playing a special requested song, and providing top notch service that made us feel like we were celebrating with family and friends. Literally brought tears to my eyes and the meal was the best I have ever had.
Marigold Lyons is a smaller, romantic, and chic restaurant tucked away on Main Street in Lyons, and it completely exceeded our expectations. Everything was spotless, the atmosphere was elegant, and the service was spectacular. Our server, Jordan, made sure our dinner was unforgettable, and every single bite of food was a close-your-eyes moment, it’s truly that good. We highly recommend starting with the Carmelle appetizer, and next time I’m absolutely saving room for dessert because nothing here disappoints. The way the staff respectfully and confidently handled my ADA accommodations spoke volumes, not just about their service, but about the culture and character of the entire establishment. We’ve officially found a new favorite local place to eat.
The food is 85% good, there are always some really awesome hits but also usually a miss or two. Menu constantly changes which I appreciate. The wait staff is usually excellent, but sometimes like this past time was not as good at explaining the menu or being attentive between courses. The location is beautiful.
I have been to the Marigold on many a special occasion and this last one was the best yet. Their chef is always coming up with incredible culinary creations at very fair prices to make a night out amazing. It makes coming back unique each time as the menu is always being updated. Their wine list and knowledge if you like unique white/orange wines, natural wines or light bodied reds is unrivaled in this area. Eric made our engagement dinner super special, taking my reservation far in advance, getting us a corner table, and selecting some spectacular wines to choose from. Every single dish was delicious, starting off with craft sourdough, their special butter and the best Salami I’ve ever had. Next was some grilled scallops with a parsnip foam and blood orange reduction and the grilled eggplant that was the epitome of savory goodness. The cream sauce rigatoni with rabbit was decadent and then the slow cooked, incredibly spiced cut of wagyu that has been shredded and cooked in a bed of puff pastry was unlike anything I’ve ever had. Desert and decaf espresso Our server Jordan was kind and very personable… I could go on and on about this place..
**Edit—July 13, 2025** Last night we returned to Marigold for what was now our 3rd visit. The crew knocked it out of the park yet again, from host/server/sommelier-extraordinaire Eric B. to bartender Amy, and the chef and kitchen crew. Eric was his typical personable, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable self. The menu was fresh, creative, and incredibly flavorful. We started with the finocchiona (a must-have every visit) followed by the farinata ripiena—a perfectly-crisped chickpea flour crepe filled with cherry, fennel, and boursin. Next, we had the squash, which was presented beautifully and had amazing flavor. That was followed by their “peach with country ham” dish which consisted of generous slices of delicious peaches coupled with prosciutto-esque slices of aged ham and various accoutrements. This was one of our favorite dishes of the night: the flavors and textures were layered and complemented each other perfectly. Then we split 3 main courses: the rigatoni with taleggio, arugula, tarragon, and walnut (delicious); the poulet rouge (chicken) ‘under a brick’ with chanterelle mushrooms and apricot (perfectly crisped and moist chicken, full of flavor); and the wagyu beef en croute. We finished up with a scoop each of fresh ginger ice cream and brown butter salted caramel ice cream. If we had to pick a favorite dish of the night, the wagyu was probably it. Beyond the amazing flavor, presentation, and perfectly-cooked cut of meat, this dish truly showcased some amazing chef work. To take a less common cut of meat and figure out a way to make it into such an incredible dish…bravo! We learned that the dish takes over a week to prepare/cook so that it turns out just right. Chef Theo, Eric, Amy, and the rest of the Marigold crew: bravo and thanks again; we can’t wait for our next visit. ———————————————————————————————————— This past Saturday we visited Marigold for the second time. Our first visit, for my dad’s 80th birthday, did not disappoint and we were excited to visit again. Chef Theo, the sommelier Eric, and our server (Madison?) were fabulous and the food was incredible. We had 8+ dishes over the course of the evening and each was delicious, creative, and skillfully crafted. There was no bad dish, yet the rigatoni with the lamb ragu was our favorite. Eric has a wealth of knowledge about wine and historical context. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. It was also a real pleasure to meet Chef Theo and hear some of his great stories. In addition to being a talented chef, he is extremely personable and down to earth. It was cool to see him out “front of house” bussing tables, chatting with customers, etc. He even took the time to lend a helping hand and coach me through filleting my first skate wing! What a gem in lovely, resilient Lyons. Can’t wait until our next visit!
One of the very best meals we’ve had in a long time. The menu is interesting and changes frequently, and yet every dish we had was beautifully presented and super flavorful. Our server, Eric, was knowledgeable and a terrific guide through the menu and the wine list. The cocktails were a great way to start a wonderfully well-paced evening. Highly recommend!
